AS EARLY AS AGE 10...
The book/cd program is easy enough for a 10 year old and complete enough for an adult. I tested the book on a ten year old boy name Noah from Dayton, Ohio. Noah now plays 55 songs after only 8 weeks of practicing with my method.
LEADING WORSHIP IN TWO MONTHS...
Hi Eric! I met you the first weekend in May at the Homeschool Conference in Lansing, Michigan. I bought your complete 8 chords, 100 songs book package and have been diligently working on them ever since. I knew very little about my guitar before I bought your set (I could play the B-I-B-L-E with "cheat" 3 string chords). It has been about 2 1/2 months since my purchase and I can now play every song in levels 1-4 and some from level 5 & 6! I am so excited about my new ministry at my church. I have sung and played my flute in our Praise Band for several years and just recently told my director that I was learning how to play the guitar. He asked me to bring it in and show him what I had learned so far. When I started playing "Come, Now is the Time to Worship" his jaw hit the ground. That was about 2 weeks ago. He had me play it in church that very next Sunday. Yesterday he called me and asked for a list of songs that I knew and said that our piano player will be out of town this Sunday and he wants me to play for the congregational worship! How cool is that? We're even going to teach a new song, "How Great Is Our God!" Isn't He great? I'm so glad that He laid on your heart to write this worship series! Thank you for listening to Him and following that direction! I hope the Lord will continue to bless your ministry and be praised because of it!

Love you web site. Lots of great music. I haven't played for over a decade. My pastor asked if I could lead music for him over the summer so that piqued my interest again. All my songs were 30 years old and sounded like campfire songs. You have given my playing a modern, very satisfying sound. My three sons are also enjoying learning with your method.

Student Showcase Interview with Aaron Innes at the CHAP convention 2007
Student: Aaron Innes
Age: 20 Camp Hill, PA
Eric: How long have you been
playing?
Aaron: I have been playing 3 months
with the 8 Chords Program. I tried to play before but any other book
I tried I gave up on because I couldn't do it. Most started out by reading
notes and seemed very boring. The layout of the book and the steps that
you chose were perfect to get me playing right away.
E: How many songs can you play now?
A: About 70 songs now and once I master the Bm chord
I will be able to play many others.
E: What made you want to play the guitar?
A: You can't take a piano to the camp fire with you. You can take a
guitar anywhere and you can sing with friends. My dad plays guitar and
it just seemed like a great thing to do.
E: What was the easiest thing about learning with 8 Chords?
A: The chords that you started out with made it really easy. All the
chords were close to each other. I didn't have to learn any big jumps
between chords.
E: What was the hardest thing?
A: The Bminor chord!
E: What are you currently working on?
A: I am working on finger picking patterns
E: What is in the future?
A: I don't want to go pro but playing in a worship band at church or
starting my own garage band is something I would like to do. I think
another 6 months and I will be ready to do anything with the
guitar.
Conclusion:
I was amazed by this new student I met at the convention. I remember
shipping the books and CDS to his dad. During the convention, Aaron
led worship songs both days at the 8 Chords booth. Other guitar players
and a percussionist joined right in. Aaron was able to lead and sing
worship songs for 2 full days at the booth. He has only been playing
with my method for 3 months! I know that anyone can complete my method
with success and this student proves it! If you have a desire to learn
the guitar, this is one student story that will hopefully encourage
you to reach out and really complete my program to make a dream of playing
an instrument come true.
